Hey...you know that thing...that one thing that can make or break your whole look?...
-Yeah I'm talking about lipstick...
Believe it or not, lipstick or lip color for some is a pretty trivial topic(at least it is for me at times:-D). We want our lips to attract the proper attention, which can be a hard thing to do with all of the various trends in lipstick style, color, and application seen on many social outlets.
I know that other makeup artists will agree that very often, we are asked our opinion on what lip color our bride should flaunt on her big day. Well, I'm here to provide you with a few tips that I hope will be beneficial when making your choice....
Tip no. 1: Try it out first
By trying out a prospective lip color before your big day, you leave out room for an unwanted surprise. Doing so will also allow you to test out the color, texture, and wear in regards to your complexion, skin type, and need. A great way to do this is during your bridal trial.
Tip no. 2: Ask a trustworthy source
If you are going to try out a new color/brand/texture, show someone that you can really trust to tell you the truth! My mother and sister are my go-to-gals because they are fully aware of my particular style-and they also want me to look my best. Sometimes they can be a little too honest, but it's all love :-)!
Tip no. 3: If all else fails, stick to what you know
For those that are super self-conscious regarding lip color, it may be best to just stick to what you know! If you have a favorite color that makes you feel comfortable, go with that! My only suggestion is to take it up a notch by adding a little sparkle or shimmer to your lip color. You'd be surprised at how you can turn something ordinary into something fabulous by throwing in a little detail.
Tip no. 4: Confidence is critical
Hey you- you're getting married! Now that's something to be proud of! So no matter what color or style of lipstick that you chose, rock it out!
~~Side Note: Lipstick most likely will not last the whole day due to all of the smooching, talking, and eating, which is normal! So if you find a color that you like, buy it or have your makeup artist buy it for you. That way, you'll have your lipstick of choice within arm’s reach! ~~
